Find your CPS neighborhood school
Every Chicago address is zoned for a neighborhood elementary school (sometimes called your "home school" or attendance-area school). Every child who lives in that boundary has a guaranteed spot, no lottery needed.
How CPS neighborhood schools work
CPS draws attendance boundaries each school year. If you live inside a school's boundary, your child can enroll there for kindergarten without entering the lottery. You can still apply to other schools through GoCPS, and your neighborhood school stays a guaranteed option.
Boundaries can change, so confirm with the school or CPS before you enroll. Once you find your school, its Homeroom profile shows start and end times, aftercare, programs, and details shared by current parents.
